As part of this partnership, teleophthalmological eye check-ups will be offered at an increasing number of Fielmann locations. During these check-ups, Fielmann employees will take eye measurements and images of the retina, which will subsequently be transmitted to Ocumeda and digitally evaluated by ophthalmologists. After a successful pilot phase, the eye check-up will now be rolled out nationwide. By the end of 2023, this service will be available in over 100 Fielmann locations in Germany and Switzerland.

The eye check-up will adhere to the highest medical quality and standards, alongside close collaboration with practicing and researching ophthalmologists. Ocumeda offers an open platform that is fundamentally accessible to all ophthalmologists and optometrists. This decentralized, widespread offering can provide optimal access to eye care.
