Fast, convenient, and cost-effective
Ocumeda revolutionizes eye care with a quick, convenient, and cost-effective teleophthalmological eye check-up. In collaboration with opticians and experienced ophthalmologists, access to preventive care is simplified for everyone.
Professional eye check-up at your optician
The trained and certified personnel of our partner opticians measure your visual performance, the strength of your eyes, and the intraocular pressure. Additionally, a fundus camera captures an image of your retina. All data is then securely transmitted to Ocumeda.
Analysis of data in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland
Your eye check-up will then be evaluated by a specialist in ophthalmology from Germany, Austria, or Switzerland. The results are immediately understandable, thanks to an easy-to-understand traffic light system.
Receipt of the report & follow-up care
Your report will be sent to you within 72 hours either by post or digitally via email. If you have any questions, we are here to assist you at any time. If urgent action is required, we will help you find an ophthalmologist near you.

Why is eye care so important?
With the help of our eye check-ups, over 27,500 abnormalities have already been detected early, preventing serious consequences for the eye health of our customers.
Glaucoma
This 43-year-old patient had not seen an ophthalmologist for over 5 years and had not noticed the partly severely reduced vision of 0.05 on the right and 0.63 on the left (normal value: ≥ 1.0). The measured intraocular pressure was significantly elevated at 41 and 50 mmHg on both sides (normal value 10-21 mmHg). The optic nerve showed advanced excavation on both sides. The immediate follow-up eye examination by an ophthalmologist confirmed the diagnosis of advanced glaucoma. Untreated, glaucoma leads to the loss of nerve fibers, which can result in blindness.
Retinal detachment
This 61-year-old female patient had never visited an ophthalmologist before. She did not report any complaints. Her vision was reduced, measuring 0.63 and 0.5 (normal value: ≥ 1.0). There was no myopia, and her eye history was unremarkable. Our examination revealed a suspicion of retinal detachment in the right eye, which, if untreated, can quickly lead to severe and permanent vision impairment. The patient was immediately informed of the findings by phone and sought care at the nearby university eye clinic on the same day.
